ABOUT AARON

Aaron Pollock, CCMA-nominated Canadian singer/songwriter based in Nashville, TN, is broadening his country sound and exploring new sonic territory. He is embracing past and present influences ranging from John Mayer and Don Henley to country greats Keith Urban, HARDY and Brothers Osborne, and current obsessions such as 80’s-influenced artists like The Night Game and The Band CAMINO.

Pollock’s new single, “About You,” represents his unabashedly vulnerable introspection on what it means to be in love. Drawing sonic inspiration from artists ranging from Patrick Droney to Bon Iver, the track mirrors Pollock's relentless passion to create music that pushes boundaries while authentically embodying his identity as an artist.

Being in love is equal parts elating and terrifying, and when I wrote this song with Lydia Sutherland and Chris Yurchuck we really wanted to capture the nuanced spectrum of those feelings. Andy D. Park did an absolutely beautiful job of producing a recording completely unique to anything I've ever released while simultaneously fully capturing who I am as an artist.”

Over the past few years, Pollock has established himself as a successful songwriter. With over 1000 songs in his catalogue, his talent is being recognized both in Canada and south of the border. He achieved his first major label cut with “best friend” by Universal Music’s Lydia Sutherland in 2022, and in 2021 he scored his biggest songwriting cut to date with “Encore” by ANNIKA and Brett Kissel. He was nominated for "Songwriter of the Year" at the 2022 Canadian Country Music awards ("Rebel Phase" by The Prairie States); won “Songwriter of the Year” at the 2021 Country Music Alberta awards (“Every Little Town” by The Prairie States); landed his first iTunes #1 (“All Over It” by Ben Chase) in January 2019; and scored his second Top 40 at Canadian country radio with "Rebel Phase" by The Prairie States in June 2022 (first Top 40 was “I Really Don’t Want To” by ANNIKA in July 2021). Pollock has worked extensively with a variety of established and emerging artists including Alli Walker, Mike Whiteside and Genevieve Fisher, to name a few. He also co-wrote seven of the ten tracks on Kyle McKearney’s sophomore album, A Traveler’s Lament (Canada's most award-nominated independent artist in 2022).

Pollock has also flourished as a recording artist and performer in his own right, sharing stages with the likes of Brett Kissel, Jocelyn Alice, and Shawn Hook. In 2019, he was chosen as a participant for the prestigious, Alberta-based artist development competition ‘Project WILD’. Pollock is set to perform in a songwriter’s round at the legendary Blue Bird Café in Nashville, TN, this upcoming June.

Pollock's refined skills and new sound are on full display in his recent releases, a set of songs recorded in early 2021 with notable producers including Andy Park (Noah Gundersen, Ciara) Giordan Postorino (LOLO, Alessia Cara), and Dennis Hann (Justine Tyrell, Wildr). These recordings pay homage to the craft and history of songwriting, but with a decidedly modern edge. While they represent a departure from his previous work, lyrically, they find Pollock more determined than ever to share his struggles in the hope that others will find courage, inspiration, or, at the very least, a new perspective on the challenges they face in their lives.
