New single “ABOUT YOU”

out now

Being in love is equal parts elating and terrifying, and when I wrote this song with Lydia Sutherland and Chris Yurchuck we really wanted to capture the nuanced spectrum of those feelings. Andy D. Park did an absolutely beautiful job of producing a recording completely unique to anything I've ever released while simultaneously fully capturing who I am as an artist.”

CCMA-nominated Nashville-based Canadian singer/songwriter, Aaron Pollock, is broadening his country sound and exploring new sonic territory. He is embracing past and present influences ranging from John Mayer and Don Henley to country greats Keith Urban, HARDY and Brothers Osborne, and current obsessions such as 80’s-influenced artists like The Night Game and The Band CAMINO.

Pollock's refined skills and new sound are on full display in his recent releases, a set of songs recorded with notable producers including Andy Park (Noah Gundersen, Ciara) Giordan Postorino (LOLO, Alessia Cara), and Dennis Hann (Justine Tyrell, Wildr). These recordings pay homage to the craft and history of songwriting, but with a decidedly modern edge. While they represent a departure from his previous work, lyrically, they find Pollock more determined than ever to share his struggles in the hope that others will find courage, inspiration, or, at the very least, a new perspective on the challenges they face in their lives.

Over the past few years, Pollock’s established himself as a successful songwriter. He has over 1000 songs in his catalogue and his talent is being recognized both in Canada and south of the border. Pollock has also flourished as a recording artist and performer in his own right, sharing stages with the likes of Brett Kissel, Jocelyn Alice, and Shawn Hook.

PREVIOUS RELEASES

Released June 17, 2022

In the vein of singer/songwriter classics like "Hey There Delilah" and "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," Aaron Pollock's “Have a Good Day” pulls on the heart strings with nothing but a single vocal, acoustic guitar, and unapologetically vulnerable lyrics.

Equal parts earnest and quirky, "Have a Good Day" is the musical manifestation of wanting to put a smile on the face of somebody you love.

Upon release, the track was added to the following Amazon Music editorial playlists:

  • Best of What’s New

  • Brand New Music

  • Fresh Country

  • Just North of Nashville (CA & US)

Released May 6, 2022

This stripped-back take on Pollock’s most recent release trades in drums and power chords for pedal steel and stark acoustic guitars, stripping the modern-day power ballad down to its raw form.

Drawing from equal parts emo and classic country, Pollock's powerful vocals and haunting lyrics shape a heartbreak anthem in its purest form.

Released January 7, 2022

Have you ever tried to lie yourself out of a heartbreak?

“The Truth Is” is an anthemic confession of the lies we tell ourselves and others in the face of crushing heartbreak.

Pollock’s fiery vocal delivery conveys the anguish, the defeatedness, and everything in between that comes with a broken heart. Amidst thundering drums and sweeping electric guitars, Pollock’s raw emotions are weaved into a modern-day power ballad.

Upon release, the track was added to the following Amazon Music editorial playlists:

  • Brand New Music

  • Fresh Country

  • Just North of Nashville

  • Breakthrough Country

  • Country Breakup

Released October 1, 2021

Have you ever met someone that you just can’t stop thinking about? That’s the story in this song.

"About Her" is an energetic yet heartfelt tribute to an individual that is captivating beyond everyday description.
